Hook up your camper, load up the boat, buy your bait
and come to the Lake!

Camping, Boating, Skiing, Swimming, Picnicking, Fishing and Hunting are just some of the great opportunities that will be enjoyed by HorseThief users in 2011. The camping area opened up April 15, 2011 and has 42 camping sites with water and electric. A primitive camping area is also available. The camping area has a very nice shower and restroom facility located in the middle of all the camping area.
The fishing has been picking up so far in 2011 with very nice numbers of catfish being caught. There has even been a number of nice sized bass, crappie and blue gill caught so far. Walleye are approximately 11-12 inches long so no keepers yet, but they are growing fast. Don’t forget to look at the fishing regulations posted at the boat ramp.
Remember some of the park and facilities will still be under construction so please be courteous, watch for construction traffic, drive on graveled roads only and be safe!
As you all know 2011 has been windy and Very Very dry. Please be careful with campfires. Pay attention for “Dry Condition No Fires” signs and a Red Flag flying at the office which means there is a burn ban at HorseThief Reservoir. In the event of a burn ban, “No open flames will be allowed, but enclosed gas grills with lids will still be permitted.”
